Donor Egg IVF

Genetics & IVF Institute (GIVF) specializes in donor egg IVF and is proud to have created one of the nation’s most comprehensive and successful donor egg programs. We offer both frozen donor egg and fresh donor egg services and house the premier frozen donor egg bank, Fairfax EggBank. The ability to provide both fresh and frozen donor egg cycles means that our patients have more options, more control, and can begin treatment quickly. Learn about the Fresh Donor Egg Cycle Process or the Frozen Donor Egg Cycle Process to help you decide which may be right for you.

Who May Consider the Option of Donor Egg IVF?

There are several factors that make the option of donor egg IVF an excellent choice for a patient, including egg quality, diminished ovarian reserve, and a female patient’s age. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, female fertility begins a significant decline at age 32 and more rapidly declines after age 37. After age 35, most women have a substantially decreased egg quality, which directly impacts the chances of conceiving with their own eggs.

There are many indications for donor egg IVF:

  • Age-related diminished ovarian reserve (poor egg quality)
  • Premature ovarian failure due to:
    • Autoimmune disorder
    • Chemotherapy or radiation therapy
    • Genetic causes
    • Environmental causes
    • Unexplained infertility
  • Surgical menopause
  • Carrying a genetic mutation or disease
  • Natural menopause

Donor egg IVF is often prescribed as the most effective treatment for decreased ovarian reserve. It can be an excellent option for those who have struggled with traditional IVF, had multiple miscarriages, or who are over 40 years of age and trying to conceive.

Donor egg IVF opens a world of possibilities and hope for patients who have had difficulties conceiving. In most cases it allows those who could not become pregnant with their own eggs to become pregnant more easily, whether they use fresh or frozen donor eggs.

Find the Right Donor For You

Search Fresh Donors

Search Frozen Donors

Deciding on a fresh donor egg cycle or a frozen donor egg cycle is usually one of the first steps in the process. Some of the same donors who are available for a fresh cycle also have eggs stored in the egg bank. Questions of convenience, timeline, cost, and success are a few key areas in which patients compare the two options in order to decide which is best for them.

Reasons Why Genetics & IVF Institute is the Best Choice for Donor Egg IVF

Our donors are diverse, high achieving, talented, and educated, with most of the donors immediately available. In addition to detailed medical and personal profiles, we provide both current and childhood photos of all of our egg donors. Our comprehensive donor profiles give patients important details about each donor, helping to ensure they choose the donor that is the right fit for their family.

3. Our Varied Financial Packages Including a Money Back Guarantee Option

Rather than a “one size fits all” approach, we offer many options so that our patients can choose a package that fits their needs.

  • SINGLE CYCLE—Purchase one treatment cycle, a “pay as you go” option.
  • MULTICYCLE—Includes two fresh donor cycles and all resulting frozen embryo transfer cycles.
  • DELIVERY PROMISE—We guarantee a baby born as the result of treatment or cost of treatment is refunded. Delivery Promise is one of our most popular packages.
  • SPLIT CYCLE—A highly affordable option in which the recipient gets half of the mature eggs retrieved from the donor’s cycle.

About Our Donors

The generous women who become donors for GIVF and Fairfax EggBank are healthy, educated, and talented young women ranging in age from 19 to 30 years old. All donors pass a rigorous screening process; in fact, fewer than 1% of applicants are admitted to our program. We know that the decision to use donor egg IVF is a significant one, so we provide extensive information on every donor so patients can be knowledgeable and comfortable in deciding on which donor to choose. Patients can learn about their donors through:

  • Adult photos
  • Childhood photos
  • Blood type & Rh Factor
  • Ethnic background
  • Family medical history
  • Height and weight
  • Eye color
  • Hair color & texture
  • Special interests & sports

We are keenly aware of the special trust that patients place in us when they choose to come to GIVF for treatment. We honor that trust and celebrate in every success. It is our sincere hope that our next success story will be yours.

Donor Egg IVF FAQs

Since 1988, GIVF has offered one of the most extensive and most comprehensive Donor Egg IVF programs in the country. We have one of the largest, most diverse pools of immediately available egg donors in the United States, and our program has excellent success rates. Regardless of whether you choose fresh or frozen donor eggs, you can begin treatment when it’s convenient for you. And you can depend on personalized, compassionate care and attention from your physician and donor egg coordinator.

Our expertise in genetics provides donor egg IVF patients with benefits not available at many fertility centers. Every egg donor is screened in-house by our board-certified geneticist, and donor egg recipients can always meet with one of our board-certified genetic counselors. GIVF counselors will review the patient’s family history, the biological father’s family history, the egg donor’s history, and answer any questions the patient may have about heredity and genetic conditions.

In general, any patient with a medical or genetic indication for using an egg donor can be a recipient if there are no medical contraindications to pregnancy. We accept donor egg recipients up to the age of 55. The decision to use donor eggs is made in association with the patient and their infertility specialist.

If male factor infertility is an issue, donor egg IVF with intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) into the eggs is also available. Non-surgical sperm aspiration (NSA) can be used in association with ICSI if a patient has had a vasectomy and wishes to avoid vasectomy reversal, or there are other causes of the absence of sperm in the ejaculate. If donor sperm is needed, many highly-screened sperm donors are available from our in-house sperm bank, Fairfax Cryobank.

Donor egg IVF opens a world of possibilities for patients who have struggled to conceive. It allows many patients who could not become pregnant with their own eggs to become pregnant easily, whether they use fresh or frozen donor eggs. Because of our  vast experience, the success rates for donor egg cycles at Genetics & IVF Institute are among the best in the country.

We are committed to providing a large, diverse selection of fully screened, talented, educated donors, between the ages of 19 and 33.

The information available on our egg donors includes physical characteristics (height, weight, hair color and type, body build, and blood type), ethnic background, educational record, occupation, special interests, audio interviews, childhood photos, and adult photos. The choice of an egg donor is always made by the patient. You can view our fresh cycle egg donors or search the through the Fairfax EggBank frozen donor egg database.

We do not require that donor egg recipients join a waiting list. Donor egg IVF cycles can match one donor to one recipient (sole match) or one donor to two recipients (shared match). Regardless of whether a patient chooses a sole or shared match, treatment can begin immediately and will not be required to wait for a donor.

We also have an extensive pool of fully screened, immediately available egg donors, and we offer frozen donor eggs from our in-house egg bank, Fairfax EggBank. If you choose an egg donor who is in high demand, there is a chance you may have to wait for the donor to become available. However, it is our goal to provide our patients with as many options as possible so they will not have to wait unnecessarily to begin treatment.

There are different procedures for donor egg IVF, depending on if you choose a fresh donor egg cycle or a frozen donor egg cycle. See the step-by-step process for frozen donor egg IVF here and the process for the fresh donor egg IVF here.

Yes. Patients who need donor sperm in conjunction with donor eggs will benefit from the diverse selection of quality, fully screened donors available through our in-house sperm bank, Fairfax Cryobank.
